Termination of Altech Node Service
Increased competition in the video-on-demand (VOD) environment and unfavourable market conditions have necessitated Altron having to make the difficult decision to close the Altech Node business. It is with regret that we hereby give you formal notice that all services associated with the Node provided to you will be discontinued on 31 October 2015.
Altron has a 50 year-old culture of putting its customers first. In this spirit, Altron is committing to refund you as subscriber on an ex gratia basis an amount of R1,999 per Altech Node device. Refunds will be processed through the normal payment mechanism originally provided by you (i.e. directly paid into a credit card or digital wallet) during the first week of November 2015.
The Altron group deeply regrets any inconvenience caused to our customers through the termination of this service but it was unfortunately necessitated by sound and prudent financial management principles. We will communicate to you providing further detail in due course.

Altech Node Q&A - Termination of service
Q. What services are being terminated?
A. The Altech Node Video on Demand (VOD) content services and all other Altech Node subscription services will be terminated.
Q. Why has the service been discontinued?
A. Unfavourable economic and market conditions and increased competition in the video-on-demand (VOD) market have necessitated the difficult decision to discontinue the Altech Node services.
Q. Until when will the service be provided?
A. The service will be provided until close of business on 31 October 2015 (Termination Date)
Q Will I be compensated?
A. Although we are not obliged to, all active Altech Node subscribers as of Termination Date will be compensated on an ex gratia basis to the amount of R1,999.
Q. When will I be compensated?
A. All active subscribers will be compensated within 5 working days of Termination Date, provided Altech Node has your relevant banking/credit card details on record.
Q. Will I be compensated for my subscriptions?
A. Yes, you will be refunded any unused prepaid subscription fees within 5 working days of Termination Date, provided Altech Node has your correct banking/credit card details on record.
Q. How will the money be credited to my account?
A. Compensation and/or refunds to active subscribers will be processed through the normal payment mechanism originally provided by you as subscriber
- Directly paid into a current credit card that was utilised for payment for the subscription service.
- Into your bank account, when verified, if you used an Eyenza wallet option for payment.
Q. How will my banking details be verified, if required?

Q. What do I have to do to cancel my subscription?
A. Your subscription will be automatically terminated. No further deductions will be made against your account, as of 31 October 2015.
Q. Do I have to return the Altech Node to get a refund?
A. No, the Altech Node does not have to be returned.
Q. Will I be able to use the Altech Node device after the termination of services?
Q. Will the service continue as normal until termination date?
A. Yes, Services will only be terminated on 31 October 2015.
Q. Will I still be able to view movies on the Altech Node after the termination of the service?
A. No. Due to license obligations with the content providers we can unfortunately no longer provide access to the movies on the Altech Node after the Termination Date.
